Thomas Hopkins is a Tony Award®, Drama League Award, and GLAAD Media Award winning producer working across theatre, film, television, and radio. As the founder of Thomas Hopkins Productions, he has established an internationally recognised production company whose passion for storytelling drives the creation of captivating experiences that leave a lasting impact.
Coming from a non theatrical family background, Thomas has emerged as a leading figure in the arts, establishing a legacy of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship within the Hopkins family. He began his artistic journey at an early age, earning a full scholarship to the prestigious Urdang Academy in Covent Garden, where he studied Musical Theatre, alongside completing a degree in English and Drama at Middlesex University.
Read Full BioIn 2009, Thomas transitioned from performing into production, managing his first West End musical at the Comedy Theatre, now the Harold Pinter Theatre, and his first West End play at Trafalgar Studios. Over the following years, he built extensive experience across every scale and level of the entertainment industry, developing a reputation for producing commercially successful and artistically ambitious work.
In 2019, Thomas founded Thomas Hopkins Productions, which has since worked on more than one hundred live theatrical productions and numerous productions created for platforms including Sky, BBC, Amazon Prime, BroadwayHD, Broadway On Demand, and Digital Theatre Plus. Recognised as an industry leader, the company specialises in transatlantic partnerships and supporting productions through its full service organisation.
Thomas’s producing credits span Broadway, Off Broadway, the West End, UK and international touring, film, television, and digital media. Productions have included Kenrex, Prince F, Data, Robert Icke’s Oedipus, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), Liberation, This Bitter Earth directed by Billy Porter, Rose starring Dame Maureen Lipman, Glorious!, The Talented Mr Ripley, The Jonathan Larson Project, and Allegra by Peter Quilter. His development slate includes a new version of Boy George’s autobiographical musical Taboo and the major UK revival of Little Shop of Horrors. On screen, he is developing West End Girls, a reality series following the stars of London’s West End.
Guided by the belief that “The Future Is Ours to Create,” Thomas champions bold storytelling, innovative productions, and international collaboration across theatre, film, television, and radio. His work is defined by a commitment to developing exceptional talent, forging meaningful creative partnerships, and creating productions that resonate with audiences worldwide.
Thomas is a distinguished member of the League of Independent Producers, The Drama League, and the Society of London Theatre. He is also a voting member of both the Olivier Awards and The Drama League. Furthermore, he serves as a trustee of Just Add Milk, a charity dedicated to improving accessibility within the arts through workshops, educational programmes, new writing initiatives, and the Luke Westlake Scholarship.
Today, Thomas continues to develop and produce award winning work on both sides of the Atlantic, combining creative vision, entrepreneurial leadership, and strategic partnerships to bring compelling stories to audiences around the world.
