THE TRANSATLANTIC ALLIANCE One of the best thing THE TRANSATLANTIC ALLIANCE One of the best things to come out of the last few years for me has been The Transatlantic Alliance. It wasn’t really born out of some grand plan. It was just a group of producers in the UK and America who liked working together, trusted each other and kept finding ways to support each other’s shows. And somehow that has grown into something I’m really proud of. This year alone, Liberation won the Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Two Strangers was Tony nominated for Best Musical and Oedipus for Best Revival of a Play, alongside Prince Faggot, KENREX and DATA Off Broadway. And there’s loads more to come. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button heads to The Public Theater this autumn, and in 2027 we’ll be part of bringing Damn Yankees back to Broadway. The awards are lovely, obviously, but the bit I care about most is the people. The calls, the introductions, sharing opportunities, helping each other, taking a punt on something because someone you trust believes in it. I’d love to see that group keep growing over the next few years and meet more people on both sides of the Atlantic who want to work in the same way. Up for the day with The Social Sort and Kevin Wilson PR, meeting some brilliant potential partners for Little Shop of Horrors at Hope Mill Theatre and talking about how we can really connect the production with the city. One of my favourite parts of bringing a show somewhere is building those local relationships around it, so it’s been a really exciting day. And what better welcome than Audrey II herself waiting for me when I arrived? This is exactly why we created the Alliance: to support exceptional work travelling across the Atlantic, from the UK to New York and back again. Benjamin Button is, for me, one of the most exceptional pieces of musical theatre to come out of the UK in recent years. The way this production has been nurtured, grown and now taken across the Atlantic is really remarkable. We simply cannot wait for New York audiences to discover it. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Lovely to be at BAFTA tonight supporting my friend Lovely to be at BAFTA tonight supporting my friend Rob Kelly at the screening of The Quiet Hour, coming soon to Channel 5. Huge congratulations to Rob on a brilliant cast, and to writer Sarah Louise Madden, director Margo Roe, ⭐️’s Archie Panjabi, Paul Kaye and everyone who brought it together. Always exciting to see great new writing given this kind of platform.

A brilliant few days at the Edinburgh Fringe seeing new work, catching up with lovely people and being reminded just how much talent and creativity there is out there. So much to take away, but a real highlight was @intheblacksoloshow THE BLACK ⭐️ starring @quazdegraft & @therealkylemccarren. Very special work from two hugely exciting shows. Leaving Edinburgh inspired, slightly exhausted and very glad I came. Until next year!

Every performance is the result of extraordinary people coming together with one shared purpose: telling a story that connects with an audience.
